Be sure to turn "Analog Mix" all the way up. But I could be wrong, I usually
try changing settings until it works. :)

Hello!
My goal is to record speech from four different microphones (mono inputs)
and store it in correspondig four sound files. Then I should be able to
reproduce them simultaneously, in parallel on four outputs or mixed
together.
I'm quite new to both ecasound and alsa, and I have some problem.
All,
Sorry to cross-post, but I have spent quite some time trying to figure this
out (and a lot of googling too). I'm trying to setup the Maudio DiO 2496 using
the S/PDIF Optical outputs...mainly I'm trying to get mythtv to work, but I"ve
been unsuccessful with ALSA on this card for anything

It does not. I can mute or unmute the PCM control, but not control it's
volume. Also, controlling the master volume does nothing. I can change
the volume with the xmms mixer, but I beleive that is because it uses
OSS and not the ALSA mixer controls. Keep in mind too that I am using

Sorry, I didn't mean aseqlib.h -- I meant include/asequencer.h which had a typo

Hi,
I have two soundcards in my system, a cmipci(card) and
an intel8x0 (on board).
cmicpi is /dev/dsp0, intel8x0 is /dev/dsp1.
In .asoundrc I have:
pcm.cmipci { type hw ; card 0 ; device 0 }
ctl.cmipci { type hw ; card 0 ; device 0 }
pcm.intel8x0 { type hw ; card 1 ; device 0 }

I've already seen somebody post this problem, anyway here is some additional
information.
I've got my Audigy 2 NX working with usb 1 on kernel 2.6.3 with both kernel
modules or separetely compiled alsa 1.0.3. I got 5.1 boxes - for now i only
managed to run the 2 front boxes and the subwoofer. I

As far as I've heard you have to unmute and raise the volume of
several mixer controls to record something.

If your codec supports jack sharing, the default configuration of the
other jacks will be line in and mic
