Isn't it just a case of the Linux driver not supporting the NXs version of
44000 rather than the device not supporting 44000 at all? My guess, as a
software engineer, is that Creative decided not to follow the USB audio
standards and therefore the USB audio drivers don't work correctly.

My new computer uses the intel i810 sound chip built into the
motherboard. I have a set of 3 speakers plugged into the front output
jack (controlled by the "Master" channel), and a cheaper 2 speaker set
plugged into the rear output jack (controlled by the "Master Surrond"
channel). I have a r
Not sure where the fault lies but:
With the above config XMMS will pause playback on operation of the pause
control. However, a subsequent play operation just produces an audible
click on output and a third play operation causes XMMS to start playback
from the beginning of the file. This occurs wi

Is it possible to set the default ALSA device? I have an Audigy2 NX card and
have to create a device (called 48000) to upmix 44000hz sample rates to
48000hz so they sound right. My ~/.asoundrc file looks like this at the
moment...
pcm.48000Hz {

pcm "hw:0,0"
rate 48000

SB Live mixer is diffrent as Audigy mixer. Audigy mixer doesn't have
capture source, just capture volume.
To be able hear what you are recording on SB Live:
Set volume for Line In, set Master Volume,
mute (set volume to 0) on AC97 <- you must do this,
set capture on Line In (and capture

I've never been able to get a sustained white noise. My A1 amp cuts it
off after
Hi,
Do not mute line,
Line In must be set to some value.
If you hear line in in speakers, just set in alsamixer
Analog Mix Capture Volume
and capture.
