I have most everything working now, but I am unable to play XviD-encoded
video files now. No matter what player I use, the file starts to
open/play and then the player crashes. This is the same thing that was
happening with ALL media files when I was trying to play them on the
original soundcard.
I am running a Gentoo based 32bit system.
I have a SB 5.1 Live card as my primary sound card (my speakers are
connected here) and also an RME HDSP9652 for audio recording
purposes. I would like to be able to use the ADAT input source on
the RME card and have that signal play through the SB 5.1 Li

It's impossible to tell a priori, you'll have to try it.

Hi,
They are commented out in audigy_init.

okay... yes.. qjackctl... did it.. setting to 22050Hz.
Also, only recording one source gives mono (duh).
I AM able to set the bit rate... 8bit is terrible, but
16bit works, so this is good enough.
Thanks!

Wie kann ich den Bösewicht ermitteln bzw. wie kann ich das generell

Danke für alle Hinweise und Tips.

Hello there,
I am having an issue recording with a Griffin iMic (using arecord), that
issue being it doesn't work at all. Here is my sound setup:

I've finally got an Audigy 1 card, which does hw mixing... bye bye
dmix/dsnoop and oss app problems!
I installed the ld10k1 and qlo10k1 utilities (1.0.10) and loaded the
init_audigy script. Reading the doc files I've found a dump which adjust
the mixer with mute controls.

hi folks,
am wanting to setup the above "card" and am guessing that, following the
instructions for the soundblaster MP3 should suffice?, is this correct
or is the card not supported.

Hi David,
thanks for your help. But I kind of doub that this is the problem.
In both cases (on my laptop and on my PC) behave the same way in
alsamixer.
Q/Z increase/decrease the left channel volume
E/C increase/decrease the right channel volume
W/X increase/decrease both channel volumes at once
Hi list,
I've 2 machines with (quite) the same setup; one had an electrical shock
which
killed the on-board sound card (both have a via82xx embedded soundcard),
so I
deactivated it and plugged a CMI8738 in a PCI slot.
On the 1st (on-board sound), I've got ALSA mixers in gnome

Well, I'm not familiar with the amixer output, so perhaps someone else
can give a better answer... however, my FIRST thoughts are:
1) I don't know of any single microphones that are stereo, after all
it's a single mic (input).. how would you be getting two different sounds?
2) Just because a signal
I'm trying to record some input on my Delta 1010LT using jackrec,
but it needs a "port".
There are no docs, and google doesn't turn up anything either.
I've tried: output1 output_1, playback_1, 1, in1, in_1, capture_1
When I run qjackctl, I see input/output connection ports such as
capture_1, p
HA!Thanks. :)
I think I tried just about EVERY other binary in that package other
than that one!
However, now it's failing due to overruns, and telling me to pick
a bigger buffer (which I now have tried up to "-B 128000").
Actually, all I want to do is record about 6 hours of spoken word
