I have connected my Asus S-presso P111 utilized with an Intel ICH5
"82801EB AC'97 Audio" / AD1888 chipset (snd-intel8x0).
The AC3 direct output to receiver works fine and is decoded on the
receiver with good sound quality thus verifying the physical link
connection is adequate.
