I have problems using Mplayer with ALSA 1.0.20.
I want to play a RTP stream accessed through RTSP. When I use Ethernet
interface, audio playback works well but when I use Wifi, audio playback
works most of the time but sometimes I have the following message :
[AO_ALSA] Write error: Broken

Now I've gotten the audigy 2zs as first soundcard.
I edited the /etc/modprobe.d/asound/alsa-base.conf file.
there i set option snd-hda-intel index=-2
And alsactl init says that audigy is the card I'm using now, but no sound at
all from the card.
It works to play music, no errors when using

I am having problems getting the HDMI audio working with NVIDIA NVS 3100M card
(this is a card in Lenovo T410 laptop).
When I'm not using any options for the snd-hda-intel module, I have
4
