Hi list, I guess this topic has been discussed a thousand times before, but all my recherches in the web didn't help me, so I hope, I'll find the solution here. Shutting down my laptop with debian-wheezy there's always this annoying system beep (quite loud), if I don't mute the speakers before.

Hello Xenia! the only idea I'd have, is to re-enable the pcspkr module and in alsamixer 0 or whatever you use to setup your audio ardware -, mute it. Otherwise the real pc-speaker as such is no ALSA device, as far as I'm aware. The pc-speaker module is, I believe, intended to use it as a

You might also blacklist snd-pcsp Or maybe purge and re-install the alsa-base stuffs. # dpkg --purge --force-all alsa-base # apt-get install alsa-base Make sure those needed blacklist items are there and add them if need be. blacklist pcspkr blacklist snd-pcspkr blacklist pcsp blacklist
