up in /proc/asound. The card is found by the hardware: alsaconf works and finds the onboard (disabled) audio and the 2496 card. Things appear to load? I'm at a complete loss as to what to do next. I'm guessing that some init file is buggered? Or maybe the card died? Thanks. -- Bob van der

I recently installed a M-Audio Audiophile 2496 in machine running Mandriva 2006. All, including MIDI, runs just fine. But, it appears that I can only listen to a single stream at one time. I _think_ that it has something to do with the setup of either the /etc/asound.state or the .asoundrc
