I noticed that some of my delays are caused by the graphic display. I noticed that I can play tribes2 if I close gkrellm before the game. But while the game is running in windowed mode, if I just go to an Eterm and type enter, for each enter that I type the sound will cut. When I'm not runni

I compiled my kernel without any fb type of support and I'm still getting dropouts. I recall that when I first booted my new kernel, I don't think I was getting dropouts and it's only later when I installed some custom modules like lirc or vmware or bttv that things started to get bad, but I ca

I'm wondering what are the default settings for the envy24 based cards in terms of their locked/unlocked sampling rate? I want to have the card un "unlocked" mode where it will ajust it's hardware sampling rate to match the software so that there is no resampling in software. Is that the defa

Actually, I just tried the OSS/commercial drivers and after tuning envy24_nfrags to 8 I'm no longer getting any dropouts. I was getting only a very few dropouts with the settings of 16 (default) but compared to alsa it was nothing. But not it seems to be rock solid. Can you give the demo dr

I put the card in a slot that doesn't share its IRQ with anything else and now I can see irq10 in /proc/interrupts reserved for it. Altough I still have the same problem. My bios setting for latency is set to 32 so I'm wondering why it's settings 64 in dmesg: PCI: Found IRQ 10 for device 02:0

Hi, I just bought an audiophile 2496 card to replace my ensoniq 1371 card. I loaded the alsa 0.9beta12 drivers succesfully, but when I play some audio I get drop-outs every 30 seconds or so, the audio seems to quickly fade-out/fade-in. I think it becomes worse if the harddisk or CPU is busy
