Does anyone have any suggestions?

Is it possible to control the routing of the input channels to the various
outputs on the card? I'd like to avoid using real time software like sox to
continuously copy sound from one place to another. Does this card even support
what I'm asking or is it simply not possible?

I've discovered that my capture problem was caused by IEC958 capture

I've followed these instructions and nothing comes out of standard

When will a driver be available for this card? Is there something I can

Well, it *seems* I found the solution to my own problem.
I removed all OSS API/emulation support from my kernel.
Everything works perfectly now. I even got xine to output a nice DTS
signal to my external DTS decoders, and it sounds beautiful.

Here's an update:
Someone suggested I need to update my kernel with the BK stuff first
before I apply the aforementioned patch. Therefore, I started again with
a fresh kernel, and instead of using the bk patch from the ALSA ftp, I
just took the latest stuff from alsa-driver-1.0.0rc2 and integrat
1010lt (ice1712)
All of my ALSA stuff is compiled into the kernel and is not compiled as
modules.
Thanks!

I was just hoping someone might know what more it takes to get sound to

then when I run 'alsactl store' it saved the settings to the

I was trying to unmute my sound card, and I am getting this error:
amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such file or directory
Does anyone know what this means?

you shouldn;t ahve to revert to software that old just to get sound
working. Also i'd recommend using modprobe instead to insmod. modprobe
seems to be bit more intelligent as module loading.

I am just windering if anyone has an idea what I could try next. When in
win98, i get sound, and when I look at the device driver info it shows:
io range=0534-0537
irq=10
dma=1
When I try to load the alsa module with this command, here's what it says:
modprobe snd-cs4231 port=0x534 irq=10 dma1
hi, I'm just wondering if anyone uses a cs-4231 on here?

thanks for the link, but it doesn't say how to do anything that the alsa
docs didn't. There should also be no need to recompile a new kernel if
you don't even need to, most people wouldn't do that.

hi, I am hoping someone can help me with this one. I have rebuilt the
ALSA packages for redhat 9 since they would not load the modules properly.
That seemed to fix most of the problems, but it still fails when I
use 'play 1.wav' to test the sound. This is the following message on the
console
e soundcore (and all the
other modules I need) in my /etc/rc.d/rc.si script. I don't know why it's
looking for seven more cards other than card0.
I also haven't been having a good time getting the options entered for the
snd-ens13
7;ll be glad to put the gory details up in my next post.
Take care, and God bless,
Justin

Ok. I've been at this problem for a week now, and no go.
I'm compiling with kernel 2.4.17 patched with the latency fix,

I keep getting:
