Hi,
I use alsa-lib version 0.9.6 and alsa-driver 0.9.5.
I see that there is a version 0.9.7 available for both, I'll upgrade to
those versions today, but I know that I was using another version before
and upgrading didn't solve the problem.

Is there anything
I don't have any of those files. I have a asound.state, but I guess it
has nothing to do with it.
Is there a sample file I can get?
Thanks,

Hi,
I use a Toshiba Tecra 9100, running Gentoo.
Since I got it, I've been trying to install alsa without success. I always get the
following error, with any of the player I try to use:
ALSA lib pcm_params.c:2096:(snd_pcm_hw_refine_slave) Slave PCM not usable
error on snd_pcm_hw_par/ams_any
