your best bet is to open up your computer and look
for this chip on your motherboard and get the exact

I have a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1+MP3, running Mandrake 9.0. I have never
been able to get tone controls working under ALSA. I can get them using
the emu10k1 OSS driver

are only shown if i start alsamixer when i am playing a
song in xmms for example... and some controls reset as
soon as i start playing a new song

1) how do i activate the 12db analog boost on the front channels,
with creative OSS drivers i just did 'emu-dspmgr -B on' and thats
it..
2) also i hear absolutely no sound on the rear speakers, is there
some standard way/program to test it
, nor with ALSA..
how do i get this to work?
