there again I've got a problem.
I'V got my via chipset working, at least the
soundpart.
But there is the problem.
Iv got kerne 2.4.20 and 2.5.48
using 2.4.20 i've compiled the alsa-rc5, and with
kernel 2.5.48 i use the buildin alsadriver. So far its no problem.

is supported by alsa?

thanks for the answeres,
sorry, can't help you. What I know is that via8235 is not officially supported
yet, but it should be almost identical with via8233 (Takashi Iwai). So you
could've had pure luck getting so far :-) I'm going to buy a board with this
chipset too.

I'm using an asus mainboard with a via 8235 southbrige and sound onboard.
So I compiled all the rc5 sources, this worked fine. Now I want to get the soundcard
to work as well. I tried the via-82xx module. It's no problem to start, and to run it,
the alsamixer works
