problem not in card identification. It appears that the audio chip set
is VIA
I don't know if this is the problem, but the 0.9.0beta12 alsa drivers have
dropped the "card" from the driver names - use snd-SB16.

Dmesg tells me that alsa is installed, but when KDE loads, it is unable
to access /dev/dsp. I have set all my audio devices to group audio, to
