Hi,
I'm trying to install Alsa on Fedora Core 1. Since I'm new to Alsa, I
figured I'd get the rpm's (from freshrpms.net), and everything was going
to be fine.
Following the instructions on http://freshrpms.net/docs/alsa/ I installed:
kernel-module-alsa-1.0.0-0.rc2.1.fr_2.4.22_1.2115.nptl.i386.rp
Make sure your gcc version matches the gcc version that compiled your Linux
kernel and your kernel modules (check: gcc --version ; cat /proc/version).
Also check /System.map and/or /boot/System.map (should be copied from your
Linux kernel source code directory after finishing compilation) match yo
I've installed alsa 1.0.0rc2 drivers and libs, for my CT5880 sound chip, with
./configure --with-cards=ens1371 --with-sequencer=yes;make;make install
The drivers worked fine on my past linux installation, but now I have re-installed the
whole linux system and I have an error when I give the modpr
Hello,

I have RH9.0 (2.4.20-20.9) running on my athlon with a Sound Blaster Live Value.
Redhat detected the card and uses the emu10k1 driver which works fine, but
unfortunately it doesn't support 4.1 sound,
bass, treble, etc...
I downloaded and installed alsa-driver-0.9.7-1.fr.i386.rpm and

Hi all!
I installed kernel-source code (2.4.21-0.13mdk.i586.rpm) and I finally got the alsa driver, lib, & utils to load. Thanks to Julieen advice.
Now when I try to do the modprobe snd-intel8x0etc...I get: unresolved symbol snd_verbose_printk error!!!
Any ideas? Instant message in style

I know this is a fairly common problem, and I have scoured the list
archives for a solution. I have found and tried the "touch
include/linux/workqueue.h" after configure but before make;make install.
I found a post regarding adding a few parameters to ./configure to point
to the kernel source and o

Hi there,
I got alsa CVS as of 2003-04-14 and I compiled it successfuly on
SuSE 8.0. When I start alsa it gives me following error:
rcalsasound start
Starting sound driver: snd-emu10k1

Hi!
I have just downloaded the stable release 0.9.1 of the alsa-driver and compiled
it succesfully.
But when I do "make install", the following message appears:
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/kernel/sound/acore/snd-pag.alloc.o
When I'm loading the module snd-es1938 wi
I'm trying to use alsa-drivers 0.5.12.
Compilation works, but depmod -a says "unresolved symbol : synchronize_irq" for
some of the drivers (including the one I wish to use).
modprobe of the driver generates the same message.
Where is this symbol defined ? Apparently not in alsa-libs...
Any idea ?
