I'm trying to configure amanda, but I have a problem every time I run
amdump I receive a report like this:
These dumps were to tape Diaria-001.
Tonight's dumps should go onto 1 tape: a new tape.
FAILURE AND STRANGE DUMP SUMMARY:
volinux.ay /home/sanzm lev 0 FAILED [dump to tape failed

You need to run amcheck before amdump. Only after amcheck is happy
should you proceed to amdump.

Hello, amanda experts,
Can anybody tell me if amanda supports backup images larger than the tape
drive. The readme file explicitly states that it does not, but then the
file amanda-2.4.2p2/docs/Multitape talks about a need for this feature in
version 2.2.

I'm running RH 7.1 on an old Dell 333 with an IDE drive and an external
12/24 SCSI Seagate.

Your hints were right on target. I converted your Perl to Bourne Shell and
finished converting the script to work with the Qualstar. It is now working
very well. Thank you! My box only has one drive, can anybody give me any
hints on how to make this work with two? Would I just define a sec

Me again. I fixed the first problem (a hostname vs. ip thing). Now however,
I'm getting these:

Please help. Seriously. Port 1075 isn't even list
OK, so I'm an idiot. The 'port not secure' failure was due to the setuid bit
not being set on amcheck. So never mind. Thanks for listening.

onto a new machine. With the exact same set up and the exact same config
files (changed local information, of course), I get these when amcheck tries
to contact the clients:
