but I couldn't find the amd
64bit version. Is it available anywhere?
The same for RHEL4, would be useful to have x86_64 builds.

was modifying the spec file from the source RPM and
get my packages built, but if that could be done directly by the
upstream vendor it would be appreciated.
Thanks for the work of packaging.

It's a known bug on 2.5.1, please search on the archives. Or just get
the latest snapshot here :

to switch into GNUTAR but those servers are very quiet,
just some logs are being written and during the night there's just a
little of activity, so dump would have been the best way to go.

I'm interested on this as well. Just a little question before starting
the new configuration by myself: is ssh used just for the
*authentication* or for the dumps as well?
It would be extremely useful (but don't know how efficient and
hassle-free) to use ssh for
rawtapedev /dev/null
changerfile /etc/amanda/mybbookInSite/changer.conf
changerdev /dev/sg2
And this is the changer.conf:
firstslot=1
lastslot=16
autoclean=0
havereader=1
offline_before_unload=0
poll_drive_ready=10
max_drive_wait=120
unloadpause=20
driveslot=0
Using Amanda 2.5.1.

Also... any good pointer to an explanation of the bump* directives
inside Amanda.conf?
Thanks for your help,

Sorry for the length of the email, but it's been a bit difficult to
explain everything... :-)
Hi there,
I'm wondering which is the best backup technique that I can implement
on a Linux-only servers production environment.
I was wondering initially, also under suggestion of some colleagues, to
will be to handle these 2 sets of tapes
(weekly and daily) in your 8-tapes robot.
It has 16 tapes if this can help.
