I've just installed Amanda (Debian Sarge, Amanda 2.4.4). Everything
seems to work except that the mail report sent after an amdump is empty.
When I had the default "mailto root" in the appropriate amanda.conf, the
report was generated. When I changed that to "mailto [EMAIL PROTECTED]" I
receiv

Sounds as though you don't have a valid shell set for that user. What does
grep ^amanda /etc/passwd

I am having problems figuring out how to get the autochanger working. I
can manipulate it with mtx but can't find the right changer config to
get it working. I looked for chg-mtx in the conf dir but nothing is there.

eally want amanda to check for the right tape and
then overwrite it if it is the right one. How do I set this up?
Amanda works so well that I really just feed tapes and do a amrecover once
in a while. :-)

that should be retired?

I can't read the index files. What could I be doing wrong. The
server is 2.4.2 on RedHat 7 with a Treefrog Changer. The client I'm
running in FreeBSD 3.2 Running 2.4.2. it dumps just fine, I can

I have to agree. While the package names escape me at the moment there
are already lots of toys for converting text files to other formats,
including HTML.

* Replace " " with "%20" so you have "/usr1/home/document/Ingenierie%20SYNLOG"
* Double quote the name
* Single quote the name (some shells treat the different quotes differently)
