I have a filesystem that's 26 gb but my tapes are dat dds3 12-24gb tapes, so
the filesystem wont fit even with good compression, any ideas on how to
fix/make a quick hack for this ?
Use tar and back-up sub-directories...

The right way (at the moment) to do this is to use GNU tar and back up
the individual subdirectories of the file
