would the configuration for the text file for bypassing checks look like
this
@spam_lovers_maps
= @bypass_spam_checks_maps
= @banned_files_lovers_maps
= @bypass_banned_checks_maps
= @bad_header_lovers_maps
= @bypass_header_checks_maps = (
read_hash("/var/spool/amavis/spam_lovers.txt"),
);
Is there a way to bypass all checks on a per user basis? If so is it a
text file or can it be done via database

Hi all,
I posted this one the sf.net bugtracker, but saw that hasn't been used
in a long time, so apologies for the potential cross-post
I have a setup with postfix 2.3.6, amavis 2.4.1, and spamassassin 3.2.3.
Mail is scanned by amavis normally, and the quarantine method is bsmtp

Ubuntu Dapper LTS...would rather stick with vendor supported packages if I can
at all. :)

he configs were laid out in this package. I'm
used to conf.d being for *extra* configs, not the primary place for configs.
Thanks again...I think (hope) that everything is up and running and working
now.

I did that. This is Ubuntu, but same difference.

$bypass_spam_checks_re. I guess that means
they're undefined, and thus not affecting anything?
I'm sorry for all this hassle...I really don't see what I have configured
incorrectly. Do you want me to post my entire Amavis config? I can't see
why this would be so difficult.

BTW, something else that was not clear from documentation: if I am using
Amavis, do I need to run the spamd, or does amavis use the SA perl code
directly as a module?

I've installed it and run some tests. It works really well. Might want to
take a look.

less you are getting third party security updates for your RH9 installation,
I would highly suggest you upgrade to something more reason. Running RH9
without recent security updates is just asking to be hacked.

Look for $sa_kill_level_deflt in the config file.

of the new spam filter. Is there any way to do this from Amavis?
I could always use http://www.snertsoft.net/sendmail/milter-bcc/manual.shtml I
suppose, I was looking for the "easy way" out (i.e. a config directive)
first.

Just observed amavisd-new collapsing under the memory pressure of
decoding a 2500+ nested MIME mail (sitting in the middle of two retarded
faulty MTAs).
Solution was:
$bypass_decode_parts = 1;
and

Thanks.

have found the places where I can put an e-mail address to which I want all
spam forwarded to, but is there a place I can configure an e-mail address to
which is sent all *innocent* mail? This would allow us to train our system
based on our existing definitions of what is (not) spam.
Thanks.
