Brian, The three wire plug for 220 will have 2 HOT's, and the third is either a ground or a neutral. Others on this exchange have said it is a neutral. Whatever the case you have two HOT wires for sure that are 110-120 volts above the 3rd pin, and they are phase wise 180 degrees apart from ea

I'm resurrecting a very nicely-built homebrew grounded-grid 813 amp. I noticed that the filament voltage at the pins is 8.5 vac. Nominal on the 813 is 10 vac as I recall. Is the 8.5 OK or will emission suffer? I guess I could also be into an RMS versus average metering issue... hmmm. I a

John, Are you peaking the output circuit on the SB200 after you reduce the drive? If you are just using carrier out of it to drive the grid of the next amp you should peak everything to get maximum efficiency. Efficiency should be near 60% even at the low power level if you retune the plate circui

your 4 wire system for 220vac should be black wire 110v red wire 110v white wire nrt and green wire ground. use either the black or red wire and the green wire. ez way it to take a volt meter and put one lead on the black wire and the other lead on the green wire you should read 110 volts ac.
