Hmmm, S-band is probably too noisy for the really weak return signal. It might
be physically too small for L-band, though that's a pretty quiet place. Maybe

If this thing works, I wonder how big a balloon we can stuff into a Cubesat?

All,
My plan is to operate from DN35 starting about 1245Z on 6/29/2010. I will
be in DN36 around 1800Z and DN37 around 2000Z. I may be able to operate from
grid boundries for some passes. I will be active on SO50, AO51, SO67 if
available and AO27.

Not used them on the birds (yet) but the club uses them as "links"to some of
our remote APRS and receiver sites and they work great. We have used them
both ways (transmit on one band and RX on the other) ...we had to put a filter

Hi,
Just moved to a new QTH in southern england and considering new satellite
antennas.
The Cubex 2 and 70 dual band quad "Yellow-Jacket 46" looks interesting at

Anyone using this antenna on satellites?
Any problems with desense with the two antennas on the same boom?

Field day was quite amazing down here in Houston too. I was one of the
operators for K5HOU. I had never heard SO-50 with so many people! I tried 3
passes, 2 of which were on SO-50, and we didn't make a single contact, but
we still had a ton of fun trying.

Better to use OBJECTS so that all of the following shows up on
the front panel of the radio:
Satellite Name
Direction, and Range
Uplink Freq (and doppler)
Downlink Freq and Doppler
Elevation (HIGH or LOW)
Had an absolute blast on field day. AO-7 sounded like a 20M pile up .
Even the S band operation on AO-51 was busy. With so many stations on the
satellites should we not have more AMSAT members? Defined as more dues paying

Hi Reid,
If you want something in C, try predict. If BASIC is more to your
liking, then try G3RUH's plan13 program.
Both come with source code. Predict is GPL. Pla

Reid,
My suggestion is that you start from "Predict", an open source satellite
tracking and orbital prediction program:

First, are you using a "real" serial port or a USB-to-serial adapter? Second,
have you confirmed that the software and the radio are both set to the same
baud rate and device address? And finally, what CAT delay setting are you
using in SatPC32?
Mine works perfectly with either type of interf

Unless I made a dumb error, it looks impossible?

I have had my SatPC 32 up and running for long time, all modules seem to work
