ARISS is the best since it will work in all modes but RS0ISS-4 will work if the
radio on the ISS is in PKT mode.

What if we tried using SSB on the uplink and FM on the downlink as an
experiment sometime. If the uplink passband was left a little wide, several
stations could still be intelligible at once, assuming they weren't on the
exact same frequency, not to mention a cw signal or two off to the edges.

Because AO-51 is the most reliable satellite in terms of actually
finding and working it. SO-50 seems to be almost impossible to lift,

Hello,
I don't use LOTW for Satellite logging, however I logged quite a few contacts,
thank you, during HRU, Sunday. I would like to upload the file to LoTW however
I would like to know the exact header for the adi files so the SAT contacts
will be properly added to LoTW and eQSL, thank you.

the bag is $25. Shipping is extra.

Pete, as I understand it, there are two important lines in the .adi file
which must be included for LOTW to recognize it as a sat contact...
examples are shown below:

Satellite Name: SAT_NAME:4AO-7
I've found that some logging software does _not_ have these two

The 8800 is sweet for everything else that I use it for - repeaters, x-band

good success using it for satellite work. Maybe I need to pull it out again
and give it another try.
Like I said, I can’t make an accurate

The downside is that I too have noticed that they lack sensitivity

I have FT-8900 in my car (which is pretty much the same radio, except with
2 additional bands, 28 and 50 MHz).
I am quite happy with the sensitivity of the radio, no problems hearing
I did an additional test since my last email... I tried two different
radios (D7 and G71) using the same battery and I CANNOT get into the local

This would narrow it down to an issue with the Arrow.

Zack,
Do you have any way to measure RF output power from the radio? A
power meter (or SWR meter) that indicates forward power. If you do,
measure power with Arrow connected to output of the meter. Measure
reflected power (or SWR). If you have a dummy load connect it to the
meter and test

I use my TH-D7A with a home brew Dual band yagi (Kent Brittan's Plans). I
note that once I dial in the proper polarization on the antenna I can work
