Frank,
I just cruised by the SATPC32 web site and find that there is a patch for
the IC-9100 on the download page. According to the explanation, this
version will not work with the IC-910, though a full version is on the way.

I am not sure if there is a formal alliance 'tween AMSAT, the AO-51 control
team, and this Web site ...

... but it sure would seem helpful if all signal reports for AO-51 were entered
there!

Hi John, yes was active in that pass, but was working in QRP Frequencies, Up
145.880 Dn 435.150. Was strange because I was trying to hear the activity of
ground stations and Ups, several stations were there including N8MH.
But looks like was too soon to celebrate, in the followed pass
We've been turning the satellite on, and off, manually on passes over North
America when a command station is available. This has generally been the
afternoon passes, and only on an as-available basis. Uplink is 145.880,
Downlink 435.150.

Unless the IC-9100 comes down in price about $2,000, I don't care if it will
work with SATPC32. I am not getting rid of my IC-910's unless someone drops
an IC-9100 in my lap.

I think the Chinese radios will come out with a Satellite Radio- ALL Mode
DC to Daylight for about $750. Something like this popular dual band
(Woxan?) that I have seen and heard about that many hams are buying up like
candy lately. Just heard one new one on the air in the last hour.

One could always buy an 857D and an 817 to get full-duplex all mode. Yaesu
should offer the two as a package and call it the 1674 :-)

W5IU does very well with the FT-1634. (Two FT-817s.) Standing room only at
Dayton. Of course being set up in a parking lot may have something to do
with that. ;)

The two-817 all-mode satellite station works great. I do that as well, and
sometimes go with one 817 and use a TH-F6A as the

As does WD9EWK, KB5WIA, and some guy down in the swamps in Florida!

I could be wrong, but I suspect a couple of things:
1. The fact that your downlink antenna is always vertically polarized
rather than steered to the polarization of the satellite.
2. The position of the antenna on your vehicle could also have a huge
affect as well as the orientation of the
