I plan to be on Lake Travis this weekend (Fri/Sat) and may also venture

the backyard I used an Arrow 4-element 2-meter yagi for the uplink,

My satellite truck is currently using the 4el VHF Yagi
from Arrow Antennas. They are very well built and can
be ordered with a Type N connector for a small extra charge
(well worth it). The 7x7 Arrow II is what I use for UHF on
the truck with a coax relay to switch between horizontal and
George,
I had the same experience- I wanted to put together a small
portable demo system, however, as noted below, the studs holding
the elements together corroded.
Maybe, if you can find a few Stainless studs, you might get away
with this. Brass and aluminum create an interaction and freeze

I have an Arrow four element 6 meter antenna that sat upon my tower for a
few years and was still in great shape when it came down.
It did suffer a broken element right at the boom, from a hawk sitting on
the end of the element.
I was able to order a replacement element at a reasonable cost and
Stu,
Should be immediately to the right of the drop down box where you selected
the rig and baud rate. There is a box with the com port on top, and the CAT
delay below. Beyond that is a single box. Select the comport menu, and
then enter the desired port number to the right.

Folks,
It looks like the front page of planetemily.com has been hacked. Has

I am 'packet challenged' never having tried it. But I'd like to try what
Kevin is doing. If anyone is doing this with a Kenwood TS-2000, which I
think has a built in TNC, I would appreciate any help on how to set up the
radio for this
Thanks, Ted, K7TRK

Thanks for all the replies on my 5500 rotor problem! I had some time tonite
to work on it and here's what I got. On both a1 a3, and e1 e3 pairs I'm
reading only 1.0 volts. Between a2 a3 , and e2 e3 pairs I see only .5 volts
at half range, IE an elevation of 90 degrees = a reading of .5 volts.
I'd recommend NOT sending anybody to the site until it's taken down and
cleaned! Otherwise you risk picking up nasty garbage from NOT practicing
safe computing.

Hi Jeff, KB2M
Disconnect A1 and E1 from the rear of control box and measure the voltage
between input and ground at the imput of voltage regulator Q2 7806C and
it must be about 12 volt DC.
Since the voltage you measured at the output of Q2 7806C is lover than
5 volt DC i.e about 1 volt DC

Keep me in the loop. I've got a tt4 and an ht I could dedicate to this.. Sounds
like fun.

I've decided to put my trusty 736 up for sale. It has the tone squelch board,
50MHz and 1296MHz modules installed. I'm including my homebrew CAT and TNC
cables.
Make me an offer, or bid on fleabay:
