I'll be working /p from DM58 Delta County Colorado during this weeks
evening SO-50 passes if anyone needs that grid or county. It'll be the last
time I'll be in that grid.

Does anyone have a recording of the July 16, 2012 0230z SO-50 pass? I made
several contacts but my recorder didn't work. Thanks.

I work AO-27 with a one watt ht and Arrow handheld antenna here in western
Colorado all the time. Timing to get through the traffic and be heard, but
once you are get ready for a pileup.

If AMSAT hasn't already given you an award, a plaque, an engraved gold tag
on the next spacecraft, they should.
Please keep up the good work.

I agree with Clint's observations. I use an ht with 1 watt and a handheld
antenna and do just fine. It's your neighbors goofy setup causing him
problems.

radio
satellite communications. FM, SSB, CW, packet, it doesn't matter. Making
contacts through a satellite zooming overhead is just a lot of fun. And
when you stop to think about it, pretty darn amazing. Let's get back to
helping one another and making contacts without all the grade school
SO-50 is alive and well, although it can be frustrating to work as it seems
to tumble around. When it's working, the signals are great.

As always, if you need a QSL card for DM67, send me an email and I'll get
you one in the mail. SASE not necessary. LoTW logs uploaded showing the
correct grid.

, but if any of you need a QSL
card from DM58 let me know and I'll get one out to you. ALSO, if anyone
needs DM58, let me know and I can walk down there for you.
Where will I be tomorrow? Stay tuned.

I'm wandering around various grids to the end of September (before the snow
starts), and will mail all contacts QSL cards the first week of October.
SASE not necessary. No plan on when and where I'll be so it will be as much
a surprise to me as you.

I made an impromtu trip to DM67 Sunday and will mail QSL cards to the 23
contacts I had since that is kind of a rare grid (no sase or return card
necessary). I'll make a couple of more trips up there before it starts
snowing in a few weeks and will announce it here.

Well ok, then what is the answer? AO-51 used to be fun to work, but with the
high power stations, jammers, and everyone talking over everyone else, it's
no longer fun.
With the frequency change this evenings pass was very enjoyable.

SO67 L2 435.335 dn 145. 875 up

Hope this helps.

I think that's a great idea, unfortunately I didn't see this in time to
reprogram my ht. Maybe that's the answer, changing the uplink frequency at
random and posting that change here. I would have loved to be able to work
ZF2AE today, but with an ht it was impossible.

I just wanted to say thank you to ND9M for all the contacts on grids out in
the middle of the ocean. You taking time from work, on a ship to make
satellite contacts is just amazing, and demonstrates the good in ham radio.
