We make every attempt to keep the digipeater ON when the BBS is on. In fact, I
think the default from a full reload of the satellite is DIGI ON.

find that it works better either approaching or receding due to SC antenna

Yes, the 9k6 BBS is operational and working.
Please adjust your uplink freqency (try UP and DOWN in 500 Hz or 1 kHz steps)
and see if that helps. Most users report that a high gain antenna with 10-50
Watts power at the antenna for the L-band uplink results in success.
