Here I come back again on that topic :P Adobe has open-sourced (MPL/GPL/LGPL, great, IMO !) and gifted to the Mozilla foundation his JIT compiler for ActionScript which is in fact an implementation of ECMAScript a.k.a. JavaScript; this will mean great improvements in speed both for AJAX web-app
