I had the same problem, rename the file analog-4.11-etc.tgz to
analog-4.11-etc.gz (just changed the extension from .tgz to
.gz) then gunzip it and it should work.

alternative is to use a script to 'de-uniq' the files into the normal
format before passing them into Analog, but that seems wasteful of cpu
cycles and disk space.
