If you get really bad battery life, calibrate it. Drain it down until it

Yeah, I am lucky to go a full day on one charge. 90 minutes of web
surfing (on the bus to and from work) will easily kill an entire
charge. If I just leave the thing in standby, with wi-fi off, it
might last 2 days.

We need to find someone with both a regular G1 and a G1 dev phone... maybe
they tweaked something to make it a real developer's phone and make it last
less than a regular G1: some debug switch, or a service which is always one.
But probably not ;)

I keep the WiFi on in my office since the cell phone connection is
terrible, and the battery lasts only 2 or 3 hours. The WiFi is a

I've had smartphones for years - 3-4 days is VERY good I think. You
imply your simple Samsung phone was just a phone... which isn't
really comparable to something like the G1.

More features (WiFi , GPS ) and bigger screen require more power.
You can get spare batteries for around $25. I have a couple that I
keep with me, just in case I juice the battery and am not near a plug.
My BB had much better battery life, but then again my G1 does things
that a BB never
WI-FI kills battery life..i am on my slim line psp now and i use
its wifi all day to email etc just like the g1 with intermediate use

You can get a day out of your phone?!?
Even after several conditioning cycles, I only manage to get 18 hours
or so out of a charge, with moderate use!
