Week 7-8: Adapt and extend the previous application so that it can work
with several language pairs. This could be achieved by having a JAR per
language pair and the main JAR executable that makes use of them or by
integrating everything on a
Hello,
I am a student in Germany doing my Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.
Sadly enough I heard about the application time for GSoC opening yesterday for
the first time but I have not been a participant in any of the discussions of
the application ideas with the Mentoring Organization

Hello,
If you could please help me out, I just have a quick question. I started
working on the proposed coding challenge for the task of adopting a new
language pair. I tried to follow as much as possible the Apertium New
Language Pair HOWTO. However, when I reached the transfer rules section and
First of all: thanks for your responses!

Hmm... perhaps when run as a standalone, the transfer compile could
have an option for invoking the ADK to compile to Dalvik classes?
I'll need to look and see how/if it's possible to programatically

I'd prefer to avoid modifying JAR files.
It's a ZIP file. If people wants several pairs in the same ZIP file they
can use ZIP.
I don't know if I have correctly explained my idea.
Dear All,
I am asking your help, hope someone can clarify these thigs: I am wondering
if it is possible to use the apertium tagger as a standalone application,
without creating all the resources used by the MT system. We have a
morphologically disambiguated training corpus, and a morphological
Hi!
My name is Sanam Ali and I am the regular user of irc and first time asking
question here. I have submitted my proposal for adopting a new language
pair: ur-hi on google-melange. I have completed the coding challenge and
submitted my files to mentor Francis tyers. I need your feedback on my
# means error in generation. The usual reason for this is either the
word is either missing from the monodix, or it's present and marked
'LR' (analysis only).

Lets put people in two rough groups:
1) Apertium core developers. They are each maintaining 2-5 of the 20-30
language pairs that gets updated once in a while (lets say a release once a
month, on average). They are used to use makefiles and scripts.
2) All opthers. Occational users of

Now I really understand you and you have definitely convinced me. So yes, it
is going to be better to forget about my GUI idea and work on a command line
tool. The utility proposed by Jimmy seems very interesting in that respect.

IIRC, the reason why Readers and Writers were used is that they fix a
host of character encoding issues. From what I remember when I was
working on the Java port, there were some problems with accented
characters getting garbled during processing if something more
lightweight was used.
