Rick,
Not being smart donkey, but have to ask ... You *are* installing the
packet driver before you open Arachne, right??

Bastiaan,
I too looked at CACHE.IDX, but didn't copy it to a .TXT file to open it with
a text editor.
As I see it, the CACHE.IDX database relates the image to the
stored cryptic cached name. There should be a way to extract the
names from the database do a search and replace on the saved

Hi Vladimir,
For Windows there is Windows Commander acting just like Norton Commander
for DOS.
Win Commander does a very good job for FTP, with two panels.
One panel for the computer at home and one for the remote computer.
Download, upload, deleting and copy is very easy...

Hi List,
I did some trials in saving two pages.
1- empty the cache (F8)... I have my cache written to the HD
2- go on line to the desired website
3- disconnect after downloading the page(s) (Alt H)
4- leave Arachne (Alt X) so no events are added to the cache
5- go to cache.idx. COPY cache.idx

You say you use Spamassassin. One emailing list I'm on uses Spamassassin, and

Hi Gangue,
I am gobsmacked! (British phrase to show complete and total
astonishment)!!!
Downloaded latest version onto machine, installed it and up and running
with install wizard in less than 6 minutes! This is the way it should
be! At long last. It's even working with the internal modem, convin

Really great to see your continuing interest and

That 512 maximum for Arachne... is that just for
the Inbox, or is that 512 max for a POP3 download,
or is that 512 maximum for all Folders combined ??

Thanks for all the hard work on Arachne GPL.
Now that you're the official 'chief programmer' (cook, bottle washer,
