My experience is that pulseaudio sometimes works for simple desktop audio.
Any serious work with audio it just cause (or potentially cause) problems...

After upgrading to the latest xf86-video-intel package I am facing
the following problems:
- XDM is not visible (only the mouse pointer shows up; Even though I am
able to login by entering my username and password).
- Windows do not move fluently. There is a clearly visible drag.
