The reason is simple most campus e-mail systems restrict the size of
attachments, and in some cases strip out the attachment from e-mails
sent from outside of the network. PDF files can become very large very
quickly depending on the number of pages and if color scans are sent.

Windows 7 can be installed as a 64-bit Operating System or a 32-bit (just like
XP, Win98, etc.). You can also setup a 32-bit shell for programs that will not
work in a 64-bit environment. Now I have not tried setting up Windows 7 for
Ariel or Odyssey,
