IMO, 'Piya Haji Ali' from Fiza is another fantastic song that is not
well known.
Add the title song of 'Dilne jise apna kaha' which goes by the same
name - A total subtle melody.

Oh man, you're right! Amazon opened the mp3 store just a couple of days ago and
the samples sound much better in quality now. The artist info shows up when you
play the tracks individually. Just 4 tracks (total under 14 minutes) by ARR is
a bit of a dampener.

I think VS praised Ismail Durbar, becoz they both have developed
good relationship on Zee's Saregamapa programme. (They're permanent
judges there). So appreciation is not just becase of his music. :)

I was expecting a full length english song by Rahman in Elizabeth
(Like he did for Warrior's of heaven and earth), that's why I
commented last month as 'Rahman's next masterpiece will
be 'Elizabeth' :).
I think this song would've brought Rahman more close to Hollywood.
