Agreed, Dilse/Uyire comes way behind those albums of Mani-ARR u mentioned. But
i personally feel Kandukoindain Kandukoidain was a much more matured
composition of ARR compared to Dil Se. Or should i say it reached me better,
because of certain personal factors. Every each song had its charm and
‘Gandhi…', being a global subject, will be in English.” As in most of his
earlier films, A.R. Rahman will be scoring the music for this one too.

Some would agree with you but many would not. Most I know regard ARR's Dil Se
as his best. So do I. It's only opinion.

it is more a chorale soundtrack, every track has more than 1 singer and singing
ensmemble.
nice music, but is more situational than commercial.
best tracks are kahaani and aazadiyan.
