I do not find anything wrong either (so need to get defensive!). But
its interesting to note that sometimes Rahman gets inspired by some of
his lovely BGMs. And since I listen to Rahman's music so much I can't
help noticing these things.
I remember "Telephone Dhun (manipol)" from Indian/Hindustan
The first time I listened to Kabhi Kabhi Aditi from the upcoming movie
"Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na" I told myself "This sounds so awesome but I've
heard this before." After spending a few minutes wondering where I'd
heard it, I finally found it! :)
Its from the BGM of "Mustafa Mustafa" .. the first line
Hi everyone,
I had the pleasure of listening to JA's songs for the first time today
- in their entirety. CDs are available in California (at least near
the San Francisco area) - the CD cover and inlay designs are very well
done.
Still trying to digest all the songs. I'd already fallen in love wit
Sivaji songs are quite nice. My favorite song is Sahara and the sad
version. The songs remind me a little bit of songs from "Parthaale
Paravasam" though. Do you guys agree?

Hi all,
Just wanted to give the fans group a quick email on the Rahman event
at Stanford Univ last night.
Overall, the event was a disappointment since some odd Stanford
professor spent the first 45 minutes discussing Rahman's music giving
no special insights whatsoever. Her questions to Rahman w
Wow, thats an atrociously biased statement to make - that "lower and
middle class people are not mature in their musical tastes."
Who are we to decide who's taste is more "mature"? Lets enjoy Rahman's
music because we like it, not because for some reason we believe we
have superior musical taste.
I feel like Rahman has discovered a new, youthful sound in RDB,
atleast i n a few of the songs.
The only disappointment is that he hasn't expanded on Khoon Chala. The
song is one of the most original melodies I've heard in a long time,
and the guy Mohit has a fantastic, original voice.

Tu Bin Bataye totally reminds me of "Anbe Sugama" from Paarthale
Paravasam. The melody, and even the way Naresh sings.
I like Rubaroo, Luki and Khoon Chala the most in RDB.

Is a cool song. It reminds me of "Hai Rabba" and "Anbe Anbe" from Jeans.
Did anyone else think so?

ot really think it is. If he is making music for movies especially
period ones he has got to give situational music. He will definitely
not have the flexibility of giving any music he wants. Otherwise it
will stink like AM's music for Asoka where the music did not relate to
the period at
I'm disappointed and sad that in general this yahoogroup seems to be
unable to take any criticism of Rahman in its stride.
Good fans will not accept poor quality music and still convince
themselves that it is good. Good fans will also not berate people who
make fair criticism of Rahman's music.

Hi all -
I listened to Rising songs on Raaga.com today. After brilliant songs
in Bose, "Rising" is certainly a disappointment. Overall, the songs
sound like "Meenaxi" and it seems to me that Rahman probably composed
Rising soon after Meenaxi, since you can see the similarities in the
orchestral ar
