I know a North Indian who loves Mani Ratnam films and even owns some
of his Tamil films on DVD. And I know another who listens to ARR's
Tamil and Hindi stuff, and even appreciates some of Ilayaraja's work.
Whatever stigma there was about regional music is gone/reduced because
of ARR. South India

music.music is universal...too bad for you the
only kinda people probably you speak to are the people
who speak ill about indian music...well its a

there were numerous posts in this grp about music having no
language and music itself is a languagew ,so how could you criticise
eng songs?Music is a very personal issue,what you may like i might
not like and vice versa SO pls if you do not like

good point! i have not found any difference in the casual contempt
towards ARR between my non-tamilian and tami
rathinam,the fact no 3 is so true.i dunno what is so great in Eng
songs,im so proud that i listen to Indian languages songs.And i will
proudly say it infront of my indian frens who listens to english songs
& insults indian music,i will say i dun define eng songs as MUSIC.they
r just mere noises

1) Tamilians and Hindians not listening to each others music shows
that we are still narrow minded.
2) Some people look down upon Regional Music, but dont mind
listening to Crap sorry Rap etc of which they are clueless.
