If I understand the issue correctly you would need an active link on the form which contains the CI View that fires on event. If your config.xml file contains: menuitem id=MNU_ID1 textid=48173 text=item1 action=CIRV_NOTIFY_AR/ When you click this item in the menu it will throw the event
