I'm trying to update my AR Server...
I did a upgrade from ARS 5 to ARS 6.3 (that's ocurred successfull) with Oracle
9i.
Now I'm trying to update to ARS 7.0.1 version (with Upgrade). But I'm having a
problem that I don't know if 'cause Oracle database or another type of ARS
The critical part of the install log is before what you've posted.

No problem. Hope it helps; I really like the instant client - X
Windows is not required for installation, only ~40mb total for the
client and sql*plus; just takes a little more configuration.
If you are using a unicode db, there are some quirks that need to be
worked out with the article, but
We are in the process of doing an upgrade from ARS 6.3 patch 20 to ARS
7.0.1 patch 1. Is it true that the Oracle 10gR2 client is required for
installation. We have a remote database that is Oracle 9.2.

I bellieve that is correct.
From testing that seems to be the main issue..
check the compatibility listing.
