It can come from the user security embedded with the analytics universe. At the web intelligence designer see the SQL generated and execute it directly at the database. If it reports no records even when executed directly at the database it can be because the reason I said. The BO user must exist

I am a newbie to Analytics for ITSM, but an installation that has been validated between my BOE administrator and SAP is running reports with no errors, but also NO DATA! This applies to canned reports and custom reports. When doing a direct query on the SQL, records appear with a simple query
