On the Advanced Display properties tab for the table, select for
Initieal Row Selection, choose Select First, Fire Workflow. See if this
helps. The only problem is that it will by default select the first
record.

Look at the table field's properties. Advanced display tab-> Initial
Row Selection and Refresh Row Selection. You can specify when/if you
want workflow to fire on the table during refrehes.
