Hi,
I have installed java 8u51 and apache tomcat 8.0.24 from rpm and tar files
respectively on RHEL7 OS.
But still tomcat link is not working :
http://servername:8080/
Any idea hot to make it working, I am just getting The page can not be
displayed error .
Checked ps -ef|grep tomcat command and
Jason is correct – versions of ARS earlier than 9.0 used the Oracle OCI client
libraries to connect to the database and required the client to be installed on
the ARS server machine. 9.0 now uses JDBC and the driver is included with the
server.

Hi,
Thanks everyone for your response.
So it means I can simply start installing AR server after installing Java 8
and Apche Tomcat 8.0.24 (Linux and Oracle already installed by our network
team).
Are there any other specific setting we should take care of before starting
AR server installation
Hi
1)
You do not need an oracle client when installing version 9.
2)
There is no need for an apache server before install. But if you want to
use Apache http server with Tomcat, then need it.
4)
I recomend an independent installation, it is easier to upgrade.

Hi,
1. If Jarl Grøneng says no client is needed for Remedy version 9, I would
take his word for it. For earlier versions the Oracle client is needed on the
AR Server if the DB is installed on a separate machine.
2. In my script I describe how I did it, and I use Apache for many other
things. But
Confirmed you don't need the Oracle Client. I used Misi's document to build
a VM of 9.0 and skipped the whole Oracle Client section.

Hi,
I do not see why not. Most things will apply. I use the same script for
installing version 9 beta without too much problem. I performed an upgrade
though.
