Joe, a lot of laptops now come with both hdmi and VGA and of course USB. A
lot of projectors also support these technologies so as long as you have the
ports, you should be able to leverage them to do why you suggest.

The wide format projectors are starting to catch on. It will probably be a
little while before it is the norm though.

On 1920x1080 you know you do not need an external monitor. It's a luxury
if you have it.
But lower than that I have always had the need for an extended monitor.
Its hard to develop without one.. At least I feel so..

projector and vocal devices like a mic etc. They do provide button mikes in
