It would be fair to ask of you to disclose the licensing policy of your

Is it going to be open sourece? GPL?
If not, what does the community get in return?
Thanks.

I am surprised at your response!!!
Asterisk is open-source and that is why it so successful.
So are AMP, Flash Opeartor Panel, and [EMAIL PROTECTED] and they all have a
great following. If you listen to some great open-soutce software
developers, they will tell you, among other things, that
FOP swf file is not opensource, noone seams to complain about that, I am
sure if you make a sizable donation to Thorben he'd be willing to share.
But why should he give away hundreds of hours of work he invested into
applications he provides to us all for free?
If you think it's flawed, suggest

smbPBX is right on point. Just because its a free download now, doesn't
mean the the final version will also be free. In fact perhaps one won't
even be able to use the older betas. Asking for clarifation seems
reasonably fair. I too would want to know what I am getting

LOL AMP Doesn't have any compiled code. The only way to make it not open
source would be to obfuscate the code!

Can anyone recommend a decent quality usb handset of
headset? I have been travelling a bit and using a headset
plugged into my laptop's mic and headphone jacks just
aren't cutting it.
Was just wondering if anyone had any recommendadtions. Was

Hi smbPBX,
It's fair to ask and I would love to answer, but I
have not decided what to do yet. I will most likely make a version for
commercial use which I will charge a fee for, but will keep a version free for
private use, but as I said I am undecided.

Open-source
Agreed.
And as Thorben says he might do dual versions, if he can make a living
out of writing usefull apps for us all we'd be so lucky ;)
Now if he could just write some linux apps to i'd be hysterically happy

He was talking about looking at mono in the past, wonder where that went?
Anyone know what C# on mono on Linux is like? Does the code require many
changes etc?
In my experience, it works just fine. I develop on VS2003/2005, and then
copy code over the Linux, and it just runs. I have a webservice
I stand corrected!

We are looking to put together a small custom asterisk box based on an embedded

fabricator that can work with us to design a metal/aluminum/plastic case for
this thing?
Thanks,
