Having FXO ports external to the PBX gives you flexibility that cannot
be achieved with an internal card. Also, I've had problems with
internal and external ports...no need to open the PBX with an external
gateway.

Can anyone recommend an alternative to the Digium TDM FXO cards? I've
experience too many call quality and echo issues with production
systems. I've tried the Grandstream GWX-4108 but it is a bit quirky. I
prefer an external FXO gateway solution due to deployment flexibility.
