it's an amazing peice of software. What I want to do is to be able to
call other members of my family over our broadband conenctions (so that we don't
have to pay huge phone bills anymore). We are both behind standard
(NOT SIP aware) routers, so I

Well I have to be honist and say that I have only
been using it for a couple of weeks.
'Sendmail' aways fires up correctly when the
machine starts, but mail never sends, well not from Asterisk at least, haven't
tried sending mail manualy, will have to try that and see how I go.

You can call the public telephone number which the
card is attached to and hear some lady telling you about asterisk. If I
dial the extention number of the phone I want to call, it connects and it's all
good.
You might want to read over the info at http://www.voip-info.org. There's a lot of
good reading there that will help you make the most of Asterisk.
