I have a ring group setup that I'd like to ring a bunch of local extensions, plus a few outside lines. I want recipients to confirm the call by pressing 1 before they are connected. But when I add in an external number to this ring group (such as 5551212#), none of my internal extensions ring

I've had decent luck with PhonerLite, connecting via SIP. The interface is not the best, but I've been able to connect reliably and make calls. -Ryan bilal ghayyad wrote: > Hi List; > > I need to configure a softphone to be client and use > it with Asterisk, which is the recommended one? Is it

Right now I've been working on setting up an Trixbox server on our internal network. Its behind the firewall, but I'd like to open up the firewall to it because we sometimes have developers working off site and I'd like them to be able to connect. Is this safe to do? I've got the "Allow Anony

[asterisk-users] setup multiple phones for 1 extension

I'll start by saying I'm a trixbox user, and a new one at that, so hopefully you can respond to me on those terms. I have a user who works from home 1 day a week. On that day I'd like for him to be able to connect with a softphone and be reachable by just dialing his extension as we normally w

[asterisk-users] identifying what a user pressed to reach my phone

2007-06-21 Thread Ryan Stille
I am a new trixbox user. One of the things I'd like to get working is being able to tell if a user is calling me by directly dialing my extension, or if they pressed 1 for sales. When they press 1, it rings a group of phones, and the call is almost always for someone else. So I'm always look

[asterisk-users] Hardware requirements question

I've read through the Wiki, I know its hard to nail down hardware requirements because it really depends on what you are going to do. I'm very new to Asterisk, haven't even read my Asterisk for Dummies book yet (its in the mail). Can you tell me if this sounds sane? We are planning on using
