I am getting ready to spec out a replacement for a Merlin Legend system
with asterisk. There are a couple of things that holding me up that
hopefully someone here can answer.
1. How well do modems work through a channel back to a PRI/T1
interface?
2. Is there a decent receptionist phone (I don

I misread your original post...I thought you were talking about an Avaya
DIALER and not an Avaya PBX.
The only concern with the CSU is the distance the cabling with the signal
will have to travel. Avaya is big on "requiring" CSUs for their equipme

The actual setup is like this:
T1 from bell comes into a CSU, from the CSU goes into Avaya PBX for inbound
and outbound calls.
My question/concern is if I still need that CSU.

Actualy I have got a PBX conected to a BRI port on a Cisco Router witch route the calls. The router is using h323 with the other end.
How could I replace the actual PBX and pass all the calls to the router, as now works.
