PCI 2.2 is mostly a clerification on the 2.1 specification. One difference

Just adding my 2 cents..
I have used PCI cards before that say PCI 2.2 on them (not specifying
whether it is a requirement) on machines that don't support it (old
old). The cards functioned perfectly in all cases.
Note: These were not digium cards.
