That script is obsolete.
You should use the makerunnix.sh

We are trying a fresh install (0.7-3417, geni586 image) on a box which
report (lspci) the following Ethernet controller:
RDC Semiconductor: R6040 MAC Controller
A quick check show there is no r6040 network module.
